For TwinStrand Biosciences, I undertook a comprehensive migration project, transferring over 100 pages, custom post types, and resources from a heavily customized theme and framework to a new, more user-friendly website powered by Elementor and Advanced Custom Fields (ACF). The previous setup made it nearly impossible for the client to update content efficiently. My goal was to create a manageable, scalable solution that simplified content updates and enhanced user experience.

Key Aspects of the Project:

• Content Migration: Utilizing the WP ALL IMPORT plugin, I facilitated the transfer of content. However, due to the complexity and customization of the original site, significant manual effort was required to ensure a seamless transition.
• Elementor Style Guide: Before creating any pages, I developed a comprehensive Elementor style guide. This guide defined all global elements, including the color scheme, typography, headings, and buttons. Establishing these standards upfront ensured consistency across the new site.
• Homepage Redesign: The homepage received a significant update to improve access to the client’s extensive resources section. This section now prominently features patents, events, scientific posters, news, and more, making it easier for users to find and navigate relevant content.
• Efficiency and Timeline: Despite the project’s complexity, I completed the migration and redesign in under a month, demonstrating efficient project management and execution.

Results:

The new website offers a streamlined, intuitive interface that empowers TwinStrand Biosciences to update and manage content effortlessly. The enhanced homepage and improved resource accessibility contribute to a better user experience, supporting the client’s goals and enhancing their online presence.
